I called late last night to book for reservations on a monday for an anniversary dinner do they really not take any reservations? I couldnt fully understand the host who had an accent.

I think that's a common practice among popular restaurants. And Kingyo is indeed a popular restaurant. No need to bother with reservations if you got people lining up at the door.
