What does Kingyo means??
A very simple Sushi joint with very good food! Simple as that! I love the Crunch Roll.
MoreI've eaten at this location twice. Once with my wife, once alone. Both times were excellent! It's been slow each time I've been there - as in, I'm the only one there - which makes no sense considering the quality and variety of the menu. The nigiri and sashimi are fresh, uniform, and generously portioned. I have yet to meet a roll I didn't like either (and there's several to try).I haven't made it past the sushi offerings to explore the other entrees yet, but I will. And I still need to sample the wide array of imported beer and sake!
MoreVery good food and nice employees
Good Japanese when you're out and about looking for a quick meal. Ordered soft shell crab, tempura, chicken udon, rainbow roll, and poke bowl. Tempura and soft shell crab is decent but not very crisp. Udon noodles were perfect although broth was a bit salt heavy. Rainbow roll was a bit thick with rice and imitation crab. Poke bowl with greens was really really good. Fresh and light dressing was very flavorful.
MorePretty good, sushi was a little bland, but the house saki was delicious.
Good sushi with a decent selection. Quick service. NOT track sushi. So far we've tried about 10 plates and they've all been tasty. Extra ginger upon request at no charge ;) Free refills on soda!
MoreDecent sushi, quick service and friendly staff. I would recommend for a quick lunch, they have bento boxes and poke bowls. It is a bit pricey but still one of the better places around town.
MoreFriendly sushi makers. Excellent food. Thanks Doug and Jason
Great food! Really amazing workers who are kind and have great service. Sushi fresh and tasty.
MoreSo good, that when we moved 130 miles away, when we get a craving for the Hot Night Roll... we go for a drive.
MoreI got a tuna poke bowl and was somewhat disappointed in the cubes of tuna, about half was very tough with the fish cut improperly. The ones without the tough sinew were good. The sushi rice was pretty vinegary, but overall tasted good. For $15 I’d like it all to be edible! Friendly staff. I got takeout but the dining room was open. Good social distancing but too close quarters for me to dine in!
MoreThis is our go-to place for sushi. It doesn't look like much from the outside and they don't have a wide range of fish but what they have is excellent quality. (Albacore varies a little) Friendly, helpful staff.
MoreBeen there several times and had couple takeouts. Sushi are delicious and always fresh. The place is not crowded and the order is prepared quickly. Always polite.
MoreStaff were friendly, food came out in a reasonable time, and prices were reasonable. The egg roll and the crab Rangoons were okay. The veggie sushi was much too big, hard to pick up in chopsticks and eat in one bite, but tasted good.
MoreI have stopped by for a to go order many times, they are quick and food is wrapped nicely, always hot when I get it home to enjoy. Friends and family u have brought here to dine in have never been disappointed. From a family who has visited Japan a few times and enjoyed the food there, Oishi isnt far off. Very nice staff, chefs and owners!
MoreI really enjoyed my Pogie bowl. It was really good and very filling. I have eaten here multiple times and tried something different each time and loved it. The service was great and very helpful to explain or help make decisions. They have lunch specials and a great menu to select from. We normally go to track sushi places but treat ourselves every once and a while. If you drop in you won’t be disappointed.
MoreExcellent sushi! Great service!
It's a smaller sit down restaurant. Good food. Very kind staff. A little on the pricey side considering conveyor belt sushi is big out here, but I'd say average for a typical sit down sushi restaurant. I'll be honest, I've had thicker slices of fish at one of the conveyor belt sushi spots in Salmon Creek, for half the price. But in Oishi's defense their slices are more on the average side, not necessarily skimpy. They do have high chairs and we're kind to my little ones. Not necessarily a place I'd prefer to take kids though. Like I said in the beginning, it's a bit on the small side. More like a "date" or "1:1 meeting" place than a bring the whole family and have a big meal place. (I'd rather do that at Eastland if I wanted sit down sushi. It's much bigger.)
MorePlenty of food. Very social distanced. Sushi was good tempura was a bit greasy.
They desperately need a waitstaff! Sushi is fine, been going here for years. For whatever reason, they have no help anymore. The owner was literally offering a customer picking up a togo order a waitress job while we were there. She respectfully declined. Bottom line is, if you need a job, its pretty much guaranteed. If you want to eat here, be prepared to wait.
MoreThe sushi is very good and so is the service. We went here for a business celebration and found the experience was excellent. I'm not a big sushi fan, but I really liked the food here. The restaurant exceeded all my expectations. I can highly recommend Oishi Suchi.
MoreGreat food and nice staff. Reasonably priced. Haven't ordered from them yet during lockdown but I always enjoy the food when there. Too bad they are closed on Sundays.
Morevery nice employees and great quality food!
Sashimi was fresh, delicious, and buttery good. My daughter liked the Nigiri selection. The service was attentive and kind.
MoreSushi is top notch and prices are fair
Pretty darn delicious. I might have well called and said "hi. An I order an entire salmon" lolI will say I had a bit of a heart attack at the end when I was expecting a different total! All the menus on yelp are either 4 or 7 years old, which I didn't notice until way after. I tried real heard to look online or anywhere for a menu but there was none. It's ok it was like $91 surprise! LolEverything I ordered was bomb.Support small businessSalmon sashimi and nigiri were amazingThe sweet shrimp was great. I don't understand why the extra charge for the head though. The night out roll was spicy and tasty. Jalapeño on top with super thin tiny lemon slice, spicy salmon inside, reg salmon on top Very nice and clean
MoreI'm so picky about sushi and this place is so good! I've never gotten any weird peices and they know how to make sushi. I definitely would recommend it.... dosen't look like much, but for sure one of the best places in Vancouver.
MoreFood and hospitality are 5 stars, I deducted a star for ambiance, no music playing, very dark when you walk inside and a small TV with nothing interesting on it. But the service was amazing! And the food was delicious! This is the third time my wife and I have been here.
MoreGood food , smaller size rolls but good 👍
What a cute little establishment. Service was super fast and friendly. My dinner was superb and prices are not too bad at all. I will certainly stop here again when I am in Vancouver.
MoreGreat Poke Bowl 👍
I've tried a few things now, never disappointed.
Had the 9 PC sashimi dish and it was delicious! Nice thick pieces of fish with a bowl of rice and some miso... perfect for a late afternoon lunch
MoreExcellent Food and service. Bento Boxes and Poki was fantastic.
Really yummy sushi! Great customer service too.
Great Sushi!!! HUGE rolls! Also, I ordered a chicken and pork teriyaki rice bowl and subbed in fried rice for the white---1st, it was enormous and 2nd, it was amazingly delicious!!
MoreThe hand rolls are excellent. Nigiri is always fresh with yummy sushi rice. Make sure you ask for the poke menu as well. The poke bowls are not on the normal menu. This is my favorite sushi place in Vancouver.
MoreService is fast and the food is great. You get quality food. Bento box is tasty and sushi is delectable. Love the serving sizes.
MoreOishi Sushi is hands down the BEST SUSHI in Town! The fish is always fresh and the staff is very kind and friendly. I'm not a big fan of misosoup but the soup here is delicious. This place has quickly become the go to spot when my father in law comes to town. Oishi sushi thank you for always providing a great experience!
MoreI stopped in really quick for lunch. I was probably there for less then 30 mins but the staff was great and the sushi was delicious. I had a shrimp tempura roll and a dragon roll.
MoreFind employees food look delicious
Super fast service and pretty good sushi.
Fantastic little spot, the food is fresh and tasty, and the service is fast. Very peaceful environment, perfect for a nice lunch or dinner with noise levels that make it easy to converse. They also offer to-go as well.
MoreFood is not the best, we ordered four different sushi rolls, only one kind was good, and chicken udon was not good at all.
MoreI've been here multiple times, and its always good. The rolls are pretty dang big, always tasty, and reasonably priced. I mean, its sushi. You don't want it too cheap! The service is good and always quick. One of my favorite sushi places in Vancouver.
MoreGreat rolls and Poke Bowls!! We absolutely love the heart attack roll! Thanks again!!
MoreSushi was a lot better this time. But the ponzu sauce did not taste right. It was a good time.
Morealways good food and always a great service
This place is great! I have to get picky to eat semi kosher with sushi and they worked with me to make it right. Being a sushi bar you order your sushi or entrees fresh which costs a little more than a go round place. I got a combo of nigiri and rolls which comes with miso soup. The soup was a good standard as were the rolls. The nigiri though was unexpectedly great. The cuts were thicker and wrapped the rice instead of a little piece on top making it suddenly a great deal for the $20 spent. I should've taken a picture of them but i when i start sushi i don't stop lol. Expect to pay a bit more but get much more for your money than at other places.
MoreFood is always good
